ABOUT
Jackson & Connor is a small, cozy independently-owned menswear specialty shop offering a wide range of carefully curated clothing and accessories — jeans & tees, suits and sport coats, neckties, bow ties, accessories, grooming products, fine hats, shirtings both flannel and formal — in the heart of western New England. We hang our hat on providing attentive, individual service to our customers, and on our unique selection.
Owner Will Brideau travels all over to work with over 80 unusual, high-quality clothing and accessory designers, cherry-picking the best pieces from their presentations. We’re always tinkering here, constantly honing a thoughtful mix of styles and a wide range of prices. We’ll work to combine your vision and needs with our expert service, knowledge, styling and tailoring skills to make sure you look amazing for every occasion, every time. No vision? Not a problem. Check out our styling page to learn more about what we can do for you.
We are happy to work with any customer of any shape and size to find the right fit — menswear is for anyone and everyone who feels comfortable wearing it, and we welcome you. Jackson & Connor is an LGBTQ-friendly space. Come upstairs to our cozy, newly-renovated shop on the second floor of Thornes Marketplace in Northampton, MA and see what we can do for you.
Who We Are
Will Brideau – Owner
Jackson & Connor's first employee, Will started at the store in fall 2010. He caught the menswear bug fast, learned a ton, and the industry quickly became an obsession for him. Will worked closely with the previous owners, Tara and Candice, for three years until buying the store and taking ownership of J&C in November of 2013. Will is usually in the store Tuesday through Saturday from 10-3, and is off every Sunday and Monday. Will is the youngest of five children, and grew up in Rochester, NY. He came to Western Mass to attend Hampshire College in September of 2004, and had to stick around when he graduated in 2008. Will lives with his partner Jessica and his son Felix right in Northampton. When he isn't working or shamelessly gushing over fancy suits, Will spends time with his family, being a DJ at 93.9 WRSI, watching Star Trek movies, playing blues harmonica, and drinking very fancy whisky.
Alana Breheny – Associate
Alana moved to Western Mass in 2016 and instantly fell in love with the area. She comes from a 5-year background in fine jewelry, and tailored clothing became a perfect addition to her arsenal of fashion knowledge. As a stylist and queer style specialist, there's nothing Alana loves more than putting together the perfect outfit and finding that pop of color in an accessory that takes a look to the next level. Whether it's first-suit smiles, misty eyes from a wedding outfit well done, or just the satisfaction of a new pair of pants, Alana puts her heart into every person who walks through our door!
Bria Dooley – Associate
With experience in suiting and workwear since 2010 under her belt, Bria joined the Jackson & Connor team in the summer of 2021 and instantly melded with the rest of the crew. A Western Mass native, she used to come into Thornes as a high schooler to visit the newly-opened Jackson & Connor with her friends, talking about how fun it would be to work in such a store, and look at her now! Bria loves to work anywhere from mild to wild- if you need a classic navy suit and white shirt, or an outfit rich with color and pattern that you would have never thought to put together, she'll have you covered, and have a couple goofs and laughs in the process. Bria thoroughly enjoys the process of fitting someone up for alterations, and can give you the ins and outs of what could and should be done, while making sure it’s exactly what you’re looking for. Outside of work, Bria is a sewist, mender, knitter, graphite artist, and pesterer of her partner, Shane. Once she finds some extra time between all of those hobbies and finding a great wardrobe for you, she'll figure out her pesky little loom, too.
Kyle Ricci – Associate
Ace Tayloe – Associate
After prior careers in programming and education, Ace joined the team in 2024 through personal interest in menswear and a very affirming suit fitting. They've worked in tailoring, costuming, and mending, and enjoy the process of turning an off-the-rack "eh" into a well-fitted "ooooooh". Born in Colorado, raised in Vermont, with a brief stint in the Marshall Islands, Ace came to Northampton in 2008 and hasn't left since (except for that year in Hadley). They live with their partner and cat in a house with a full wall of fiction books, a closet full of mock-combat swords, an overheated gaming computer, and enough costumes to have different Halloween outfits for every day in October. They will always try to convince you to buy the paisley. Always.
